Designer Giancarlo De Astis turns old airplanes into home decor
As a designer I often do research on the web looking for other individuals who share my passion for aviation art. Yesterday, I came across designer Giancarlo De Astis. Giancarlo designs chairs, tables & lamps using airplane parts found in scrap yards. The combination of carefully shaped wood and metal with old airplane parts produces original pieces of aviation art for the home or office. His work is amazing and you can tell he puts a lot of time into detail. His prices are high, but this is aviation art and its to be expected. Here are a few examples of his work.
(Club chair made using a propeller engine air intake / desk task lamp made out of a airplane door hinge)
You can find his other items on his website http://www.deastisdesigns.com
