Designer Giancarlo De Astis turns old airplanes into home decor
As a designer I often do research on the web looking for other individuals who share my passion for aviation art. Yesterday, I came across designer Giancarlo De Astis. Giancarlo designs chairs, tables & lamps using airplane parts found in scrap yards. The combination of carefully shaped wood and metal with old airplane parts produces original pieces of aviation art for the home or office. His work is amazing and you can tell he puts a lot of time into detail. His prices are high, but this is aviation art and its to be expected. Here are a few examples of his work.

Hartzell High Polished 2 + 3-Bladed Airplane Propeller Displays
Wow, I cant believe the last post was in March! I can assure you it hasn't been because we are lazy. We have actually added a ton of new Airplane Propeller Displays, Posters, Decals, etc to www.planepieces.com and continue to work on new products in our design facilities daily. I have a preview of the new 2 and 3-bladed Hartzell Propeller Displays which will be added to our High Polished Collection on the website soon (Thanks Arash)! Perfect holiday gifts. Good Morning my Friends,
Today looks to be another fantastic day on the US stock exchange! I hope that many of you invested in wooden propellers instead! This market is absolutely ridiculous! Heath Ledger so young, so talented has died
Unbelievable and absolutely shocking! Another talented actor dies at such a young age.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Heath's family and friends. We can only hope he didn't take his own life. He had so much to live for; an amazing career, an adorable baby girl and millions of fans around the world!
You will be missed...see you on the other side

Bomb Table Success - I almost forgot
We had a fantastic holiday season! 2007 was our best year yet and because of our great fortune, we have almost all but sold out of our Bomb Table! We have a few left as of today and I have posted some new detailed photos below. The table is $850.00 plus S&H and I can guarantee you wont find anyone else with such a deal. We have contacted a bunch of close friends, so here's hoping more bombs are on the way....have a great one!

New Products added - GO Patriots
Its been forever, but we are finally rolling now. The website layout has been completed thanks to Arash and now its time to fill in the empty pages with product. This week we had a little photo shoot and shot some new images of the High Polished Airplane Propeller Spinner Table, as well as our "Enemy Splatter" Bulkhead Mirror. We also added one of our Flying Monkey T-Shirt designs! Hoodies are almost done and hats to follow. Shirts are made by American Apparel, so they are super soft and dont fade. Well thats all for now!
